Scout Design Studio Hospitality Warranty
We stand behind the quality of our furniture and are committed to delivering pieces that meet the demands of the hospitality and commercial environment. This warranty outlines what's covered, for how long, and how to submit a claim.
Category-Specific Warranty Coverage
Seating
- Rated for up to 225 lbs. per seat (excluding all-acrylic designs)
- 50,000-100,000 double rub count standard for all Scout-supplied or COM upholstery
- FR-rated fabric required for contract use
- Metal finishes include lacquer or sealed coatings
Case Goods
- Contract-grade finishes and/or stains
- Wood specs defined during development and approved by client prior to production
Lighting
- UL-listed as standard
- CE-compliant upon request
- Canopies and wiring included for installation
Artwork (prints, framed works, murals, metal/acrylic art)
- 1 year warranty from shipment date against defects in materials, printing, framing hardware, or installation workmanship.
- Covers premises-specific issues: color fading, substrate warping, misprints, frame/hook failure.
- Includes a 30 day satisfaction period for replacement or credit due to shipment issues or dissatisfaction.
- Excludes: damage from UV overexposure, improper installation, environmental extremes, unauthorized modifications, or natural material variation.
Limited Product Warranty
Scout Design Studio warrants that its products will be free from manufacturing defects under normal commercial use:
- Case Goods & Lighting: 2-year warranty
- Metal Seating Frames: 2-year warranty
- Wood Seating Frames: 1-year warranty
- Upholstery, Cushions & COM Fabric: 1-year warranty
- Artwork: 1-year warranty (with 30-day satisfaction window)
This warranty applies only to the original purchaser and is non-transferable. Proof of purchase (sales order or PO) is required to initiate a claim.
Proper care is required to maintain eligibility, including:
- Routine cleaning with appropriate materials
- Replacement of worn glides or parts
- Reasonable protection from moisture, UV exposure, and extreme temperatures
What's Not Covered
- Normal wear and tear (e.g., fading, scratches, fabric pilling)
- Freight damage (must be reported within 48 hours of delivery and documented with the carrier)
- Customer's Own Materials (COM), unless the issue is in application
- Glass, stone, and marble due to natural variation
- Damage from misuse, abuse, neglect, improper cleaning, alteration, or repair by third parties
- Products used in high-traffic or public commercial settings (e.g., airports, restaurants) unless pre-approved
- Any outdoor use unless explicitly specified by Scout
- Use of cleaning chemicals not approved by Scout
Any unauthorized repairs, modifications, or installations void this warranty.
How to Submit a Warranty Claim
To file a claim, submit the following to: customerservice@scoutdesignstudio.com
- Digital photos clearly showing the issue
- Written description of the issue and suspected cause
- Proof of purchase (original invoice or PO)
Scout Design Studio will review your claim and, at our discretion:
- Repair the item
- Provide replacement parts
- Replace the product
- Issue a credit (not to exceed original purchase price)
If a return is necessary, we'll issue a Return Authorization (RA) number and instructions. Items must be returned in original or equivalent packaging with the RA number clearly marked. Products returned without authorization may be refused.
Lead Time & Obsolescence
Scout will make every effort to complete warranty service in a timely manner, dependent on production capacity and material availability. Products and parts may be discontinued at any time without notice.
